we won!
we won the grand final of the debate! we were up against the winners of the june/aug intake, opposing the topic "that the future is more important than the past". Initially i thought we had the tougher end of the topic. but we won! haha... cushion came to watch, sat right in front of me.

as usual, when the debate starts, the chairperson intros the teams. she introed the affirmative. then proceeded to intro us. right after she did, there was a loud 'WhoooOoo'.. from none other than the front row cushion. -__-" and he was worried about not being allowed in at first, cuz he's not part of my programme.

when it was finally my turn (last speaker of the day).. i went to the center.. and said.. "good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.. my name is Dianne." i don't usually intro myself cuz it was done earlier. but the chairperson introed me as 'Dee-Un'. and it's recorded. cannot let people remember me by the wrong name rite?

anyway.. we won. haha.. afterwards, i asked cushion what he thought. he said he was quite scared for me. cuz i look abit Action. scared i make enemies there. haha! but if i don't act action i'll be nervous. haha...

anywayyyyyy.. this is the first time i've ever participaed in a debating final, let alone a grand final, what more WON it!

and no competition in school ever had great prizes like these. besides the usual certs and plaque (er. is that right? plack? plak? cuz i really don't mean unhealthy dental condition or plaque of hail or flies) for winning the feb intake debate, each of us won a $30 myer gift card and a Hoyts movie voucher. and for the grand finale, we won a $30 jb hi-fi gift card. all that refraining from shopping for shoes and cd's paid off!

and later that evening.. there was the opening night of foundation studies art, design and archi exhibition.. and they announced us as winnah's of the debate. so i had to go 'ekieu me ekieu me' to go and shake hands with the programme coordinator and take photo with the plaque. and the guy also la. haha. then went 'ekieu me ekieu me' back to where i was standing with cushion. then they announced the winnah of the foundation studies annual cover design, and guess who won!?!?!?! haha.. another round of 'ekieu me ekieu me' and went to claim my prize of.......

one hungred ohsi dollah!
